La 39 edición del Festival Internacional de Jazz de Granada estrenará cartel con Melissa Aldana. La saxofonista ha sido la primera mujer compositora y saxofonista, y la primera intérprete latinoamericana en ganar el Premio Thelonius Monk Internacional Jazz Saxophone Competition. Su altísimo registro, fraseo y ciertos guiños a sus venerados Sonny Rollins o Mark Turner, su contemporánea destreza y sofisticación armónica la sitúan en la excelencia jazzística del siglo XXI. Aldana representa la nueva generación de mujeres intérpretes de jazz.
